Is star fruit safe for cats?
Star fruit (carambola) is a waxy yellow-green fruit that makes star-shaped slices. Star fruit contains oxalates and other compounds that can harm the kidneys, so it is best avoided entirely.

- Keep star fruit out of reach
- If your cat ate some, call your vet, especially if there is any kidney problem
- Offer a safer treat instead, such as a small piece of apple or a few blueberries
