Durian is a large spiky Southeast Asian fruit with rich, custardy flesh and a very strong smell. Durian is not a proven poison, but it is very rich in fat and sugar and the seeds and spiky husk are hazardous, so it is safest to skip it or allow only a tiny taste.

- If you offer any at all, use a pea-sized bit of plain flesh
- Keep the husk and seeds well out of reach
- Ask your vet first if your dog has had pancreatitis or a sensitive stomach
