Is asparagus safe for cats?
Asparagus is a green spear vegetable, tender when cooked and woody when raw. The vegetable itself is not toxic, but the ornamental asparagus fern plant is toxic to cats, so do not confuse the two. Cats are obligate carnivores, so they get what they need from meat and never need asparagus. If you offer it at all, treat it as a rare, tiny extra.
