Coconut is a tropical fruit with a hard brown shell, white flesh and clear coconut water inside. Small amounts of plain coconut flesh are usually fine, but it is high in fat and can cause diarrhea or add to the risk of pancreatitis if overdone.

Offer a small piece of plain, unsweetened flesh
Keep portions tiny because of the fat
Never let your dog chew on the hard shell
