Is bacon safe for dogs?

Bacon is cured, smoked or salted pork, usually fried until crisp. A small piece of bacon now and then is unlikely to cause immediate harm, but it is very high in fat and salt, and regular feeding is linked to pancreatitis.

What to avoid

How much bacon can my dog have?

If you decide to offer bacon despite the cautions above, give just one tiny taste and check with your vet first, especially if your dog has any health condition. When in doubt, skip it.
